So often the real story reveals itself in the making. This was the case for me and fellow filmmaker Robby Shaperkoetter (clad all in black) when our agency sent us across an ocean to learn about Aloha. We had two cameras, a few Go Pros, and nothing more from the mainland. We relied on our good nature and ability to “talk story” to find our way.
